Job Description

Position Overview

The Shipping and Delivery Coordinator is primarily responsible for the packaging, preservation and safe delivery of finished and unfinished parts to customers and vendors. Candidate should be a driven, hard-working, efficient individual.

Role and Responsibilities

Packaging and Preservation

• Safely package parts (crating, boxing, banding, and wrapping) so they arrive to their final destination without any damage
• Build/modify custom boxes and skids to fit irregularly shaped parts
• Apply rust preventative when necessary to ensure the preservation of all parts that leave the shop

Document Control

• Gather all documents necessary for shipment: BOL, CoC, Inspection Documents, Purchase Order, etc.

Inventory and Supply Control

• Pick and pull parts to job specifications and requirements
• Maintain shop supplies as needed

Equipment Maintenance and Management

• Responsible for scheduling any maintenance with the delivery fleet
• Safe use of forklifts and overhead crane

Shipping and Delivery

• Must accurately manage the delivery schedule to ensure timely delivery to all customers/vendors
• Schedule shipments with appropriate trucking companies dependent on how product is shipped (local, LTL, flatbed, etc.)
• Deliver and pickup from vendors and customers with the use of delivery vehicles
• Take pictures of all parts and packages before they are loaded onto a truck


• Perform simple inspections and cycle counts before preparing parts for shipment

5S/Lean Principles

• Must maintain a clean, neat work area that conforms to company's 5S standards
• Looks for process improvements within the position


• Unload and sign for incoming deliveries
• Assist with other receiving duties when necessary

Qualifications and Education Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Basic computer proficiency including the use of Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat and ERP system
• Basic mathematical skills to calculate dimensions using fractions and decimals
• Demonstrated ability to use a variety of inspection tools to verify parts (training provided as needed)
• Prior material handling, shipping and receiving experience
• Must have a valid Wisconsin driver's license
